Songs for Christmas/Epiphany 2019-2020

Hello, song leaders and everyone else, too!

Here is the music we’ll be using during Christmas and Epiphany of 2019-2020.

Gathering Song

From December 22-January 13 — “What Child Is This”

(We have no Lydian recording of this, but you can familiarize/reaquaint yourself with it here.  We’ll use sheet music, which is here.  We’ll sing this over a shruti drone on silver.

January 19 onward—  “Arise, Shine

Lamp Lighting Hymn

The Light of Christ

Table Acclamation

Shelton Acclamation.”  (Note, this is not the same as the “Fall Acclamation,” also written by the fabulous Meave Shelton.)

Offering song

December 22-January 13 —  The Gloria refrain from “Angels We Have Heard on High”

January 19 onward — Mxadana Alleluia

Final hymn

December 22-January 13 — “Lo, How A Rose E’re Blooming” or “It Came Upon The Midnight Clear”

January 19 onward — “Be Thou My Vision” (pine scented rendition, here.)

Thank you for holding Saint Lydia’s in song.  Merry Christmas, and happy 2020!
