We’re building St. Lydia’s together. Here are some ways to take part. Write us to learn more.
Join Us for Dinner Church
We meet every Sunday and Monday night in Brooklyn. All are welcome at the table. Click here for directions.
Bring Dessert or Flowers
Offerings of dessert or flowers are always welcome! Dessert takes place during the hubbub of cleanup, so cookies or treats that don’t require plates or silverware work well.
Cook a Meal
Be a lead cook for one of our weekly meals. You plan a vegetarian meal that can be cooked by a group of congregants in under an hour. We’ll provide the ingredients. You can also be a sous chef, arriving early to assist the lead cook. Contact Community Coordinator Rachel Pollak for more information.
Lead Worship as a Deacon, Song Leader, or Shruti Box Player
Our worship is led by congregants. Deacons welcome newcomers and give instruction as we move through the service, while Song Leaders teach the simple, unaccompanied music we sing together as a part of worship. Both Deacons and Song leaders apprentice to learn the ropes, attend a rehearsal before the service at 6:20, and serve about once a month. You can read more about being a Deacon or Song Leader here. You can also listen to some of the songs we sing on our blog, At Table. Then, contact Community Coordinator Rachel Pollak if you’re interested in training up!
Give Money
It takes a lot of dough to make a Dinner Church. We are in need of financial support as we grow and any donation, from $5 to $25,000 is helpful. Our operating budget is slim, so your contribution makes a big difference, plus, we promise that we’ll send you something cute in the mail as a thank you. Click the button on the right to make a donation.
This year, St. Lydia’s is seeking to raise $100,000, which will allow us to move to our very own storefront in Brooklyn. It’s an amazing opportunity for you to be a part of the next stage of our growth. To learn more about giving or the matching campaign we’re running, email Emily. You can always give by clicking on the yellow button on the right.
Read Our Blog
Our blog, At Table, is filled with recipes we’ve cooked, poems we’ve read, sermons we’ve preached, pictures we like, and recent news.
